It’s a new year and it’s a new Sundown season… and not just any season, but our 🎂Sweet Sixteenth🎂!
To kick things off in true 16-year-old style, we’re… well, like any self-respecting teenager, we’re asking you for money.
OK, yes, sure… we’re 16 now, so we could go “get a job” or whatever 🙄 but, trust us, a 24-Hour Play Festival is so much more fun, for us AND for you!!
What’s a 24-Hour Play Festival?
The fundraising festivities begin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, when seven wild and wily wordsmiths will delude themselves into thinking they still possess the superhuman stamina of a high-schooler writing their entire midterm essay the very night before it’s due, and will scribble away all through the night to deliver dramaturgical gold to the intrepid troupe of thespians who, in the remaining 12 hours, will hustle and bustle to rustle up something familiar😉, something peculiar 🤔… maybe something appealing😊, something appalling😮… or even convulsive🤢 or repulsive🤮!
We can’t tell you what the plays will be about; the theme from which our plucky playwrights will draw their inspiration shan’t be disclosed until 🕰️ the stroke of 8:00 p.m. 🕰️ on the 19th.
A mere 24 hours later, Saturday, Jan. 20 at 8:00 p.m., these theatrical masterpieces will see the light of day lights of the stage Aura Coffee for one night, and one night only. 🎫 Get your tickets now!! 🎫
Speaking of stage lights… that’s why we need your money!
Why can’t you use the regular lights, like everyone else?
We love our Aura home, but there are a few mods we need to install to transform the coffee shop into a theater space. Two big components of those weekend extreme makeovers are 1. stage lights and 2. heavy blackout curtains.
The total sitting in our Amazon Wish List cart is $1,625.
That’s a lofty goal! 😲 But we know our fantastic fan base (that’s y’all!!) can get us there!
As if the magna opera onstage weren’t enticing enough, we’re also going to have a raffle for a couple of, um, hella rizz gift baskets at intermission! No cap!
