Sundown Collaborative Theatre would like to invite you to celebrate our one any only Sweet 16 this season! We are thankful to have had the opportunity to create art with our community for 16 years now and hope YOU can help us craft our season lineup!

Sundown is searching for playwrights, directors, and new scripts to read! If there is a piece you really want to see performed in the metroplex, let us know! We are seeking scripts that challenge conventions, spark conversation, and push the boundaries of theatrical storytelling.
As a non-profit theatre company, we are committed to producing innovative and relevant performances that resonate with our community. Our mission is to foster a true collective of artists who teach and learn from one another, while actively engaging with the wider community.
At Sundown Collaborative Theatre, we embrace and celebrate diversity in all its forms. We believe in the power of storytelling to amplify voices that have historically been marginalized. We encourage submissions from a wide range of cultures, experiences, abilities, and identities, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other underrepresented communities.
As you prepare your submission, please keep in mind our commitment to fostering a collaborative environment. We believe in the power of artists coming together to create something greater than themselves. Being an intimate company, we strive for a very “hands on” environment. We encourage submissions from playwrights who are excited about the possibility of working closely with our ensemble of dedicated artists, though we are extremely open to working with playwrights who are not local!
Please note that we are only accepting full-length submissions at this time, but if you have a short play we would love to have you submit for our semi-annual Short Works Festival—keep an eye out for when we open those submissions by following us on all forms of social media.
Submissions will be open from June 1st 2023-July 31st, 2023. To submit your script fill out the form by clicking HERE.
If we believe your submission may be a good fit for us, you will be invited via email to join us for our pitch day which will take place early September. We typically ask for a 5 minute presentation to further provide you the chance to explain your piece, concept, and tech needs. We prefer meeting in person, but if you are not local or have a conflict we will offer the option to Zoom in or to send in a prerecorded video. Once we meet with all candidates we will make a decision as a company as to what our season lineup will be.
